Splash screens are introductory screens that appear before a level in Kid Chameleon.

Splash screens are tied with the theme of the level; ten different themes equals ten different splash screens. The only difference in between the splash screens of the same theme is the title, obviously.
The splash screen does not always show at the beginning of a level. If a teleporter was used to enter the level, then the screen will briefly flash yellow, and the new level will begin directly. Choosing Restart round in the pause screen does not bring up the splash screen either. However, losing a life the normal way will cause the level to restart, and splash screen to come up.
