The Caged Beasts is a "secret" level in Kid Chameleon featuring big tough Lions in evanescent cages. Touching their cage will cause a chain reaction that will make the walls disappear and let the lions stray.

The level comprises a high slopy road, with caged lions, and an underground road with loose lions. You can fall from the first to the second through several pits, and both meet at the right end, where the flag is. The flag lets you skip three levels, but you'll have to play Crab Cove.
There is a teleporter on the bottom left of the level. This one returns you to the regular route, via Elsewhere 6 and then Devil's Marsh 2. You will thus have taken a completely unnecessary detour. Take that teleporter only if the lions have cornered you and you positively need to escape.
The quickest and easiest way through is to take the low road and run rightward to the flag.
The high road is much more dangerous and there is little reward for your efforts other than diamonds, unless you enjoy releasing the simbas from their “cages” of evanescent blocks just for the challenge. And you'll probably end up setting them free by mistake anyway.
- This levels sets the shortest par time in the game: 15 seconds.
- There's a bug in the enemy layout data regarding one of the lions. A typo in the data causes one of the lions to be very hard to kill as it has far more hit points than the other lions.
- The bugged Lion has a total of 26 hit points.
